Zest, Champion’s bakery and tea room, win your pastries!

Zest, here is the name of the Bakery-Pastry of Cyril Gaidella, French Dessert Champion 2017, which enchants Neuilly-sur-Seine at the gates of Paris. We go there to discover its sourdough breads, its homemade pastries and its beautiful and delicious pastries that could not be more gourmet. After spending time with Eric Kayser and many years as executive chef at Boulangeries l’Essentiel in Paris, where he appeared on the show La Meilleur Boulangerie de France with Anthony Bosson (winner from the Ile-de-France region ), Cyril Gaidella, French Dessert Champion 2017, decided to stand on its own two feet and opened its bakery-pastry shop in Neuilly on the outskirts of Paris, close to the Bagatelle Park.

There was already a bakery and pastry shop on Rue Ernest Deloison in Neuilly, but when we took over the business, we had to rethink everything. Farewell to ready-made flours with various additives, Cyril has since moved on to sourdough bread with the flours of Laurent Foirien from the Ferme d’Edviliers in Gezeran in the Yvelines.

We also forget the industrial donuts to move on to homemade pastries. The chef being of Alsatian origin, you can also find in the shop kugelhopf and others pretzels to discover.

As for pastries, we are spoiled for choice and Paris Brest to blank passing by the strawberry or the famous lemon pie signature of the house, we enjoy with our eyes closed. Good, finely selected products, seasonal fruits and a lot of work, that’s what makes a nice marriage.

In this bakery, a bar offering hot drinks and fresh orange juice awaits you. The tea room area and its many tables allow you to sit down to taste the pastries or drink a coffee with a croissant. Cyril Gaidella then aims to propose an offer of lunch and one tea time in this space which is still to be refreshed.
