“Confusión”, one of the last videos of the national group Zen made in full quarantine by director Percy Céspedez, it was distinguished as “Best Rock Video” in the last edition of the Buenos Aires Music Video Festival. The BAMV Fest is considered the first international video clip event in Argentina, created to promote and reward the best audiovisual productions of each year.
“The challenge was to show that we could produce something competitive internationally despite all the difficulties of shooting a clip in the middle of quarantine. The only feasible option was to film them as a unit, as far away as possible and then put them together in editing to exploit the powerful performance that we always achieve on screen every time we work with ZEN, who for me are one of the best rock bands in Peru”Céspedez commented.
The video for “Confusion” shows ZEN in his natural habitat, that is, on stage. Playing with colors, camera movements and many screens, the group led by Jhovan Tomasevich made it clear that despite everything that was happening in the world in full confinement, their spirit was still more alive than ever and waiting for the right moment to return with everything to reconnect with your followers.
The official BAMV FEST competition offered 33 distinctions to the best videos of the year divided into 5 competitions: General, Favorite, Technical, Special and Formats, such as documentaries, lyric videos, fashion films, making of and live sessions, among others. This year it had as its center the Trajectory Award for the career of Colombian director Simon Brand (Shakira, Juanes, Thalía, Enrique Iglesias, La Ley, Chayanne, Calle 13, Paulina Rubio, among others).
Jhovan Tomasevich, for his part, highlighted the opportunity to work again with an artist like Percy Céspedez. “We have known each other for many years and he has directed several of our videos, that is why we thought of calling him at that time, when we needed to tell people that despite everything that was happening, we should not let our guard down and keep the faith. , betting on our talent and work ”, He said.
Percy Céspedez is a Peruvian director with 20 years of experience, he has been nominated for a Grammy, won 4 MTV awards, as well as multiple international recognitions, such as the recent BAMV FEST, which is added to his resume. It is currently preparing the soon launch of its 2022 premiere season.
