1958, 1962, 1970, 1994, 2002 and now also 2022? Will record world champions Brazil win their sixth title in Qatar? This will become clear in the coming weeks, but the Selecao is definitely one of the narrow favorites.
The big event in Qatar starts on November 20, but the Brazilians only play in Group B against Serbia, Switzerland and Cameroon from November 24.

Hardly any other country has such a broad squad at the World Cup as the Brazilians. It starts in goal, where two world-class goalkeepers, Alisson Becker and Ederson, are battling for number one. Liverpool’s Becker, world goalkeeper of 2019, will most likely take over this role in Qatar.
The defense is also full of stars from clubs like Juventus Turin, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Chelsea FC. Juve have three national players available in Danilo, Bremer and Alex Sandro, and the 39-year-old former Bianconeri Dani Alves has also made it into coach Tite’s squad.
Big names continue in midfield – Casemiro, Fabinho and Fred to name a few. But the true strength of the squad is found in attack. Superstar Neymar is currently in impressive form, in 20 competitive games for Paris Saint-Germain he scored 15 goals and put on another twelve. So he will lead the team. In this task, however, he also gets support from the likes of Vinicius Junior, Gabriel Jesus, Richarlison and Rodrygo in attack. The forward position is also so full of stars that Liverpool FC’s Roberto Firmino didn’t get a World Cup ticket.

World Cup 2022 – Group G: The game plan
The tournament kicks off for Brazil on November 24 with the first group game against Serbia, who are participating in a World Cup for the third time. On November 28th, the Selecao meets Switzerland. By the way: Brazil, Switzerland and Serbia were already in a group at the 2018 World Cup, when the Brazilians and the Swiss made it to the round of 16.
Last but not least, Neymar and Co. meet Cameroon on December 2nd.
