Willow: first clip of the Disney+ series revealed

The first clip of the Disney+ series Willow has been released which sees the return of Warwick Davis’ hero and his meeting with Sorsha’s daughter

Warwick Davis returns as the fantasy hero of Ron Howard’s 1988 cult film in the new Disney+ series Willow, available from November 30th. In first clip released by Lucasfilm we see him reunited with the daughter of Queen Sorsha while engaged in a new mission.

The series is the sequel of the homonymous film symbol of our childhood and we can’t wait to return to the magical kingdom of Andowyne. In the original film we had witnessed the exploits of Willow, a Nelwyn dwarf who aspired to become a powerful sorcerer, and her journey in search of Elora Danan, the mysterious child who according to the prophecy was supposed to defeat the evil queen Bavmorda (Jean Marsh).

Images from the first clip in the series show Princess Kit Tanthalos (Ruby Cruz), daughter of Sorsha, calling upon Willow (Warwick Davis) and her magic to aid her in the search for her captured brother Airk (Dempsey Bryk).

What can we expect from the Willow series?

The short clip doesn’t reveal much of what awaits us in the new Disney + series, but it prepares us for new exciting adventures and increases the curiosity and desire to find our fantasy hero again.

From what we see Willow is no longer the anxious and shy Nelwyn dwarf, but a self-confident expert sorcerer who knows the world around him and who the decades since his last adventure have given time to improve his magical skills . Princess Kit tries to convince Willow to join her team of brave allies, among which her best friend, Jade (Erin Kellyman), a knight in training, the scullery maid Dove (Ellie Bamber), Graydon (Tony Revolori), a scholar , and the criminal Boorman (Amar Chadha-Patel) who undertakes the mission in exchange for his freedom.

Willow has grown up, is now a wise and aware character: she informs Kit and his team of the existence of a mysterious enemy (The Gales) hired to kidnap Airk from the queen’s castle and take him to the other side of the Broken Sea. The stakes are high and the undertaking promises to be more difficult than it seems, at least judging by the frightened reaction of Boorman.

We can’t wait to dive into the new adventure together with Willow and the unlikely group of heroes, even if one question buzzes in our heads: where is Elora? We just have to wait for November 30 to find out what happened to the little girl!
