Why you shouldn’t wash chicken before cooking

According to him CDC, chicken should not be washed before cooking due to the danger of spreading bacteria to nearby utensils or other food. Instead, the US agency has established homemade tricks that can reduce the risk of poisoning while cooking at home.
“Raw chicken can be contaminated with bacteria called Campylobacter, and sometimes with Salmonella or Clostridium perfringens, extremely dangerous. Therefore, if you eat it undercooked or other foods or drinks that are contaminated by it or its juices, you can get an illness or food poisoning “the CDC said in a statement to The New York Post.
How to reduce the risks of poisoning
The CDC suggested putting raw chicken in a disposable bag before storing it in the fridge, wash your hands well with soap after handling it, use a cutting board that is not used for other foods and never place any cooked or fresh food near chicken in the refrigerator.
He also advised using a kitchen thermometer to make sure the chicken is done and perfectly cooked. But above all he recommended not to wash raw chicken since “The juices can spread around the kitchen and contaminate other foods, utensils or the counter itself”.
