The anime Tokyo Revengers it became one of the favorite series at the time of its premiere in April 2021 and has gained a huge fan base, who had to wait a long time to see the new episodes. The adaptation of the manga written and illustrated by Ken Wakui is produced by Liden Films and recently released its second season, with an episode already available that begins to answer some plot questions.
Its central premise revolves around Takemichi Hanagaki, a 26-year-old with no great goals in his life, who discovers that his ex-girlfriend from adolescence, Hinata, and her brother Naoto, were killed by the Tokyo Manji. When he is pushed onto a train track, he travels back in time to exactly 12 years ago, in 2005. There he returns to his high school and mentions to Naoto that Hinata is going to die, creating a time paradox in which Naoto is now detective. Together with Takemichi they discover that they can travel 12 years in the past and decide to change the future to save their loved ones.
Previously, fans of the show had enjoyed the episodes via the Crunchyroll streaming service, the home of most anime titles. However, they were withdrawn from the catalog in November of last year, as it was confirmed that The Walt Disney Company maintains a partnership with Kodansha to co-produce and distribute series based on this publisher’s manga and Tokyo Revengers was part of the agreement.

The second season of Tokyo Revengers It premiered on Saturday, January 7 with a first episode that featured the following synopsis: “Takemichi is damaged in this timeline. There is evidence that in this timeline he ordered Hinata’s assassination. After understanding the story, Takemichi goes back to the past to make changes”. It is expected to be a shorter installment as it spans the Christmas Showdown Arc, which has close to 45 chapters in the manga.
