War in Ukraine: A ship carrying Ukrainian grain arrived in Lebanon

Ukrainian Ambassador to Lebanon Ihor Ostash asked Lebanese President Michel Aoun to clarify the situation. According to the embassy, ​​the ship flying the Syrian flag arrived in the port of Tripoli (in Lebanon) on Wednesday. The grain it transports is said to come from the port of Feodosia, a city on the Crimean peninsula, a territory forcibly annexed by Russia in 2014.

Last Friday, Ukraine and Russia signed an agreement, with the UN and Turkey, on the export of grain blocked in Ukraine since the start of the Russian offensive in February. In total, more than twenty million tons of last year’s crops are still awaiting export, according to Ukrainian data.
