Vladimir Putin claims to have taken experimental nasal vaccine against Covid-19

The Russian president has made his vaccine booster.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said he took an experimental nasal vaccine against Covid-19 and therefore participated in the tests, Russian news agency TASS reported. He also received a booster shot of the Russian-made Covid-19 vaccine called Sputnik Light on Sunday. Vladimir Putin said his immunity had weakened due to the time that had passed since his previous vaccinations, Russian agency TASS reported.

On November 22, a spokesperson for the president told reporters that Vladimir Putin would participate in the nasal vaccine trial after doctors cleared him to do so. Earlier this year, the head of state was vaccinated with the Russian coronavirus vaccine, Sputnik V. Daily deaths from Covid-19 in Russia reached a new record in November. Just under 42% of the country’s population has been vaccinated, according to Reuters.
