“Vivaldi = no respect for the police”: the anger of the police at the Te Deum

The police unions present on the spot (SLFP Police, CSC Police and SNPS) made their dissatisfaction heard. “Vivaldi = no respect for the police” and “Vivaldi = untrustworthy” were notably written on the protest signs. Bengal lights and a few firecrackers were also lit.

Since the attack on two police officers in Schaerbeek, the unions have withdrawn their confidence in the Minister of Justice Vincent Van Quickenborne (Open VLD), and by extension in the Vivaldi government. The ministers present at the Te Deum therefore entered the cathedral through a back door.

The police, on the other hand, applauded the members of the royal family, and chanted the name of Prince Laurent when he turned towards them to greet them. Remember that the reigning sovereign and his wife do not participate in the ceremonies.
