After appearing in 2007 in Spider-Man 3 in the guise of Topher Grace, Venom got his own movie in 2018. Directed by Ruben Fleischer, the film Venom allows the actor Tom Hardy to step into the character’s skin. Unfortunately, the film met with disastrous reviews, both from the press and the spectators, who nevertheless remained a little more indulgent. However, the feature film is a hit at the box office, bringing in more than $ 856 million in revenue (for a budget of 100 million).

An impressive score that pushes Sony to produce a sequel. But faced with the negative reviews of the first opus, Ruben Fleischer is replaced by Andy Serkis. Unfortunately, this change is of little use, and Venom : Let There Be Carnage, released on October 20, received even more negative reviews than the first part. On the box office side, while the footage is still in use, Venom 2 has so far reported more than $ 455 million in revenue.

A new cut scene

This suite especially allows Woody Harrelson to step into the shoes of Cletus Kasady, the alter ego of the mighty Carnage, one of the most emblematic enemies of the weaver, but also of Venom. A few days ago, Sony unveiled an alternate scene from the end of Venom : Let There Be Carnage. This week, the studio continues to release cut scenes from its feature film, this time with a sequence focused on Carnage.

In this deleted scene unveiled by IGN on Twitter, Carnage’s motivations are further explored. In the film, Cletus Kassidy uses Carnage to free Shriek, his lifelong love, played by Naomie Harris. These events set up this cut scene in which Carnage threatens to devour Cletus’ face. As with the cut scene involving Venom, this sequence is not totally finished, thus presenting a CGI of Carnage which is not yet finalized. The scene nonetheless offers an interesting monologue from the Red Symbiote that deepens his desire to kill Venom. After that, whether the scene was included in the film or not, it would probably have changed nothing in the sinking of production …
