United Cup: Belgium beaten by Bulgaria after the defeat of the mixed doubles Mertens / Goffin

Belgium started in the tournament as Bulgaria were beaten 4-1 by Greece in the opener of Group A on Thursday and Friday. The Belgians will play Monday and Tuesday against the Greece of Stefanos Tsitsipas and Maria Sakkari.
Each United Cup match consists of four singles and one mixed doubles.

Eighteen teams, divided into six groups of three (two groups in Perth, two in Sydney and two in Brisbane), are taking part in this first edition. At the end of this group stage, the teams at the head of their group established in the same city will face each other. The three winners will qualify for the semi-finals. The non-qualified team with the best record will complete this last four.
