The group wants to take advantage of the trend that people increasingly want to compose their own trips. The plans were presented in the Swedish capital, Stockholm, on Friday.
Sweden is also the first country where TUI is launching the accommodation-only concept. Customers can book a hotel or other accommodation there without a flight ticket. During the booking process, possible attractions or excursions are also offered, allowing people to choose the components of their trip themselves.
The hotel portal was launched in Sweden in mid-December, with more than 15,000 hotels in around 50 regions to start. The offer is constantly evolving, according to the group. Norway, Denmark and Finland will follow in February. Other markets will follow during the year. There is no precise date yet for a launch in Belgium, indicates TUI Belgium.
