Today is another day, Umberto Smaila confesses: “In life there are ups and downs, now they are in the lows”

“There are ups and downs in life. Now I’m low because it’s bad for our entertainment industry, I found solace in music ”. In a long interview with Today is another day, the program of Serena Bortone broadcast on Rai1, Umberto Smaila he talked about himself at 360 degrees, talking about work and private life, and admitting that, due to Covid, life as an artist is not really easy lately.

During the interview there is also space for a live speech by Fanny Interest, a woman who has been with him for almost 30 years. Love, they say, was born a few years after the first meeting in Colpo grosso, in 1988, during a funeral of a mutual friend in 1994. “I fell in love with her because she is unique”, says Smaila who in the past had already had two children from a previous relationship.

Speaking of career, then, Smaila recalled happy episodes, such as the meeting with Jennifer Lopez and Puff Daddy, then engaged and the bond with Diego Abatantuono born during the success of “The cats of vicolo Miracoli”: “He was our driver for five years, but he didn’t have a driving license – explains Smaila – He kept putting off. We hired him because he was our lighting technician ”.
