After Taika Waititi revitalized the image of Thor (Chris Hemsworth) in ‘Ragnarok‘ (2017), fans are looking forward to following the hero’s new adventure in ‘love and thunder‘.
And one of the most attractive elements of the new film is the introduction of Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), Thor’s ex-girlfriend, as a carrier of Mjolnir… Which generated rumors about the couple’s return.
During an interview for the empiredirector and screenwriter Taika Waititi touched on the subject and defined the feature as a superhero romantic comedy in outer space.
“That’s the tone I always wanted to give this movie, a movie about love about love, with superheroes and outer space.”
He went on to explain that he needed to bring romance to the franchise, something that was underexplored in the previous films.
“I wanted to embrace this thing that I always looked down on, I felt like I needed to explore this idea of love and show characters who believe in love. In the script, writing about a couple’s relationship seems kind of weird to me, but there’s a way to do it with cool characters in a cool movie. I felt like I needed to upset fans who refuse to see superhero stories when they involve love and characters kissing.”
Finally, he joked that there will be a lot of surprises, and the romance in the movie might not be what audiences expect.
“I think most people will assume the love story is between Chris and Natalie. I can’t promise that what people think is going to happen in this movie will actually happen.”
As the film will include the participation of Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (waititi) Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), nebula (Karen Gillan), Drax (Dave Bautista), mantis (Pom Klementieff), Rocket (voice of Bradley Cooper) and Groot (voice of Vin Diesel), there are several possibilities for this novel.
Remembering that ‘Thor: Love and Thunder‘ will be released in July 7th in national cinemas.

The film takes place after the events of ‘Thor: Ragnarok‘ and brings back Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who transforms into the female version of Thor. The Guardians of the Galaxy will also play an important role in the story…
Previously, director and screenwriter Taika Waititi revealed that the feature film is so insane it “shouldn’t have been made”.
“Well, between you and me and the readers, I’ve done a lot of insane things in my life. I’ve lived ten different lives. But this is the most bizarre movie I’ve ever made. If you took all the elements of this movie apart, it shouldn’t make sense. It’s as if it almost shouldn’t be done. If you walked into a room and said, ‘I want this and this and this’. Who’s in it? That kind of person. What are we going to call him? ‘Love and Thunder’. I mean, you would never work again. Maybe I won’t go after that.”
The cast is also made up of Jaime Alexander (Lady Sif), Jeff Goldblum (Grand Master), Christian Bale (Gorr, the Butcher of the Gods) and Russell Crowe (Zeus).
Melissa McCarthy will play the “fake version” of Hela in the Asgard theater troupe, alongside Matt Damon, Luke Hemsworth and Sam Neill.
Michael Giacchino (‘Batman’, ‘Ratatouille’) is responsible for the soundtrack.
