With El Khannouss, Preciado and Arteaga, KRC Genk sends three players to the World Cup. Five others – Onuachu, Cuesta, Munoz, Hrosovsky and Nemeth, who is in Hungary’s A-squad for the first time – are playing friendly matches.
The other players from the Genk A-squad get two days off and train on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Then they get ten days vacation. The training sessions will resume at the end of November, with a closed-door practice match against Heerenveen on December 6 as the highlight.
The following day, the core leaves for an eight-day internship to Benidorm. Two practice matches will be played there: the opponent on December 10 has not yet been officially determined, on December 13 the practice camp will be concluded with a 3×35 minute duel against FC Metz.
