In an interview with Collider, director James Gunn (The Suicide Squad) confirmed that he is developing a new series for DC after Peacemaker, with John Cena. At Marvel, the filmmaker is known for having worked on Guardians of the Galaxy films.
The director said, “Let’s see what can happen. I worked on this project last night and this morning.”
“It is a Serie. That’s all I can say at the moment.”
Although the director did not clarify, it is possible that the new series is a new project derived from The Suicide Squad, as well as Peacemaker. There are no specific details at this time.
James Gunn returns to Marvel to direct Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. After that, he is expected to have more partnerships with DC, after having declared that he had complete freedom to work on The Suicide Squad.
