The municipality of Nyon and Elise Buckle finally put an end to their dispute

New twist in Nyon, perhaps the last. Monday evening, in a short press release published on its website and sent to the media, the municipality announced that it had reached an agreement with the elected green Elise Buckle. “The municipality of Nyon and Mrs. Elise Buckle announce that they have reached an agreement to their mutual satisfaction in a spirit of conciliation to put an end to their dispute and allow everyone to find peace and serenity”, can we read in the press release. The two parties also announce that they are withdrawing “their respective appeals”.

Resignation at the end of the year

The Municipality also agreed “for the sake of peace” to remove from the website the various press releases relating to events that have occurred since December 17, 2021, the date on which it had filed a criminal complaint against Elise Buckle for breach of official secrecy. For her part, Elise Buckle will not sit until the end of her mandate, which will officially take place at the end of the year.

Last week, the municipality of Nyon said it was appealing against the closing of the criminal investigation by the Vaud Public Prosecutor’s Office against their ecologist colleague for violation of official secrecy. The elected green, whose mandate began in July 2021, had been suspended from office last February, shortly after the opening of the investigation by the Public Ministry. Cleared by the prosecution, Elise Buckle had finally announced her resignation, in unclear terms and leaving doubt about her future intentions.
