House of the Dragon actor Matt Smith reacted to the sex scenes in the Game of Thrones spinoff series.
Smith, known for The Crown and Morbius, will play Prince Daemon Targaryen, an important character in the series’ plot.
He even questioned his many sex scenes, and asked the filmmakers if they were representing the books written by George RR Martin correctly (via ScreenRant).
“You find yourself asking, ‘Do we need another sex scene?’ And they’re like, ‘Yes, we do.’ I think you should ask yourself, ‘What are you doing? Are you representing the books or are you watering down the books to represent the time we live in?’” he said.
“I really think it’s your job to represent the books truthfully and honestly as they were written,” he said.
Game of Thrones spinoff series
The House of the Dragon is the first series derived from Game of Thrones, a series that had eight seasons on TV.
The production had a big budget, and it’s a big bet by HBO. It is possible that other Game of Thrones spin-offs will also happen soon.
The House of the Dragon arrives on HBO Max on August 21.
