There is an enchanted garden in the heart of the Marais which Parisians often pass by in knowledge. And yet, once you discover the gardens of the National Archives and their 8000 m2 of greenery, you wonder how you could have missed it!
No matter how long we’ve lived there, Paris always manages to surprise us. In full Swamp, many Parisians walk the streets of this district which is full of good gourmet addresses and avant-garde concepts. And at the heart of this trendy spot that we thought we knew well, there is a large unknown garden in front of which we pass without knowing it.
While when the good weather arrives, the Parisians fight over the Place des Vosges, the Archives Gardens and their 8,000 m2 of greenery remain a secret nugget. However, this spot is indeed in free access and freejust like theSoubise Hotel which overlooks it. It is a group of several gardens formerly owned by mansions which are to be discovered through four landscapes.
The best known is the Garden of the Hôtel de Rohan which presents an unobstructed view of the building with beautiful French-style lawns. The gardens of the hotels of Assy and Breteuil offer a more intimate and romantic atmosphere through flowering shrubs and a pretty stream. The charming garden of the Hotel de Fontenay unveils a bed of a thousand flowers, a feast for the eyes. Finally, the garden of I’Jaucourt Hotel charms us with its air of a peaceful meadow.
Four gardens, therefore, for four different atmospheres with the pleasure of a quiet break in a green setting before resuming the course of his frantic life. The charms of Parisian life!
