The Flash: Grant Gustin reacts to series ending in heartwarming video

The Flash will come to an end after the ninth season. After many rumors circulated about the matter, The CW confirmed the series’ cancellation. Now, Grant Gustin broke the silence and spoke about the show’s outcome.

This is the latest legacy show on The CW to come to an end in recent months. The network previously canceled several of its current series during the initial season, including Naomi, Batwoman, and Legends of Tomorrow, as well as 4400, Charmed, Dynasty, Roswell, New Mexico, and In the Dark. Legacies was also canceled in May, ending the “Vampire Diaries” universe.

Gustin, who has played The Flash since his 2-episode arc on Arrow’s second season, spoke about season nine being his last.

In an emotional video on Instagram, Gustin thanks fans for all their support over the years and how grateful he is to have played The Flash for all this time.

“Thanks to all of our Flash fans who helped us get this far. Let’s do one more race together,” the actor wrote in the caption.

The Flash runs on more adventures

“Follow the adventures of the fastest man on the planet, Central City scientist Barry Allen, who after a tragic accident acquires the power of speed,” reads the synopsis.

Created by Greg Berlanti, Geoff Johns and Andrew Kresiberg, the cast includes Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Jesse L. Martin, Danielle Panabaker, Danielle Nicolet, Tom Cavanagh, among others.

In Brazil, The Flash is shown by Netflix. The ninth season premieres in 2023.
