The Cherqui Foundation, a veritable museum that houses a private collection of 5,000 optical and kinetic works of art, is now open to the general public. The grandson of the collector Jean Cherqui organizes guided tours in the heart of the immense collection of his grandfather. Next visits scheduled for Sunday January 16, Wednesday January 26 then Sunday February 6, Wednesday February 23 and Sunday February 27, 2022, not to be missed!

Jean Cherqui, renowned scientist, has amassed an impressive optical art collection and kinetic.

Composed of nearly 5,000 pieces, this private collection, gathered within the Cherqui Foundation, in one more hangar 1.000m² at Aubervilliers in Seine-Saint-Denis, now opens to visitors at the time of private tours open to grand public.

The doctor and pharmacologist, among other scientific qualifications, Jean Cherqui, lover ofart, collected the optical and kinetic works of art. In particular those of visual artist Thomas Canto and the Uruguayan artist Carmelo Arden-Quin, at the origin of the MADI movement in the 1950s. Today, his collection ofmonumental works, installed in the former laboratories of Jean Cherqui become a real Museum, opens to the public. And all thanks to Mathias Chetrit, the grandson of Jean Cherqui.

He also passionate about‘art, and artist himself under the pseudo Falcone, has decided to share the incredible collection of his grandfather with the grand public. He thus organizes guided tours from Cherqui Foundation that he drives himself.

In this Museum, we thus discover works of Julio the Park, Jesus-Rafael Soto, Martha Boto, Ettore Sottas, U-ram Choe. And even a Bolivian balloon pool Gaston ugalde or a Ferrari repainted by Jose Franco.

The visit from Cherqui Foundation lasts about an hour and is done in groups of no more than 25 people.
