In addition to the main cast, The Big Bang Theory’s 12 seasons do a great job of introducing fun supporting characters. One of the funniest characters on the sitcom is Barry Kripke, played by John Ross Bowie. But after all: what happened to the actor after the end of the series? And where are you currently?
It is worth remembering that The Big Bang Theory was shown between 2007 and 2019, with 279 episodes and 12 seasons. Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady’s series also raised the cast to international fame, offering millionaire salaries to actors and actresses.
The main cast of The Big Bang Theory is formed by Jim Parsons (Sheldon), Johnny Galecki (Leonard), Kaley Cuoco (Penny), Simon Helberg (Howard), Kunal Nayyar (Raj), Melissa Rauch (Bernadette) and Mayim Bialik ( Amy).
We reveal below everything that happened to John Ross Bowie, Kripke’s interpreter, after the end of The Big Bang Theory; check out.
Kripke is still active after the end of The Big Bang Theory
Barry Kripke is introduced in Season 2 of The Big Bang Theory, particularly in the episode “The Killer Robot Instability”.
Many fans don’t know, but it was John Ross Bowie himself who hinted at the character’s unmistakable lisp.
“I started playing Kripke as an arrogant asshole. But then Chuck (series creator Lorre) felt he needed some vulnerability. I suggested a speech impediment, and eventually, we decided on lisp.”
After the end of The Big Bang Theory, John Ross Bowie remained active (see a photo below). The series came to an end in 2019, and since then, the actor has had 6 more projects on TV and 3 in theaters.
On TV, Bowie has starred in Feel Good, Generation, United States of America, The Rookie, The Neighborhood and Station 19.
Already in theaters, the eternal Kripke of The Big Bang Theory played the butler Cavendish in Jumanji: The Next Phase. In the feature, Bowie appears alongside Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black and other stars.
Still in 2020, John Ross Bowie also acted in Bad Therapy, a comedy starring Alicia Silverstone.
Currently, Bowie is preparing to release the short film Witchy. In addition to acting on the project, he is also one of the executive producers.
Recently, The Big Bang Theory’s Kripke also released a memoir. Called “No Job For a Man”, the work was highly praised by specialized critics.
Now 51 years old, John Ross Bowie is married to fellow actress Jamie Denbo (from GLOW and Ghostbusters). The couple has a son and a daughter.
All episodes of The Big Bang Theory are available in the Brazilian catalog of HBO Max🇧🇷
