We remind you that the competition for the best traditional French baguette is organized each year by the City of Paris. It puts in competition the baguettes of bakers of the French capital.
This year, no less than 135 chopsticks could be selected, tested and tasted. To win the Grand Prize for the best baguette in Paris, the products deposited had to measure between 55 and 70 cm, weigh between 250 and 300 grams and have a salt content of a level of 18 grams per kilo of flour. The baguettes are then judged according to criteria of cooking, taste, crumb, smell and appearance. All the artisan bakers of the capital have been invited to take part in the Grand Prix de la baguette 2022, organized in partnership with the Professional Chamber of Artisans Bakers-Pastry chefs of Paris, Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis and Val-de-Marne.
The jury this year included professionals, as well as Internet users drawn by lot, alongside Olivia Polski, deputy mayor of Paris in charge of trade, crafts, liberal and independent professions, but also representatives of professional federations including the president of the Syndicat des Boulangers du Grand Paris, journalists, qualified personalities.
In addition to winning €4,000, the prize for the Best Baguette in Paris brings the brand great notoriety and the honor of provide the Élysée for a year.
