The August 2022 releases on Disney+

O Disney+ released which movies and series arrive on the streaming platform in August. There are several outstanding works on the way.

The highlights go to Lightyear, a new movie from Pixar, a spin-off of Toy Story, Venom, She-Hulk and Andor, from Star Wars.

Lightyear – August 3

A sci-fi adventure and the definitive origin story of Buzz Lightyear, the hero who inspired the toy, Lightyear follows the legendary Space Ranger after he becomes stranded on a hostile planet 4.2 million light-years from Earth alongside his commander and crew. As Buzz tries to find a way back home through space and time, he is joined by a group of ambitious recruits and their charismatic cat-robot companion, Sox. The arrival of Zurg, an imposing presence with an army of ruthless robots and a mysterious plan, will complicate matters and threaten Buzz’s mission.

Minnie Bows: Party Planners: Season 1 – August 3

Come join the celebration as party planners Minnie and Daisy open their own party planning business, The Polka Dot Party Palace!

Z4: Season 1 – August 3

After taking several artists to stardom, Zé Toledo (Werner Schünemann) is going through a difficult period without releasing any new successful artists. Willing to reaffirm his importance in the phonographic market, he decides to set up a boy band, driven by the format’s international success. Four boys are selected for the project: Luca (Pedro Rezende) is a famous YouTuber thanks to his music videos; Paulo (Gabriel Santana) is a talented dancer, who struggles to conquer his space even though he comes from a poor family; Rafael (Matheus Lustosa) is shy, but an excellent singer; Enzo (Apollo Costa) was raised by his wealthy family to enjoy classical music, but he is passionate about the pop music universe.

To polish the band, Zé has the help of choreographer Pâmela (Manu Gavassi), her daughter, theater teacher Ramiro (Paulo Dalagnoli) and advisor Judith (Angela Dippe), responsible for taking care of the boys in the big house who will live together. . In order to succeed, they have to face the scheming of Felipe (Diego Montez), Pâmela’s ex-boyfriend who blames the band for the end of the relationship with the teacher, and Giovana (Marina Brandão), Pâmela’s student who envisions taking her place as the band’s choreographer with the help of her brother Leandro (Nicholas Torres).

Marvel Studios Forward: Behind the Scenes of Ms. Marvel – August 3

Marvel Studios Forward is a comprehensive documentary series available on Disney+ that examines new Marvel Studios series and movies. Travel behind the scenes of productions like WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Loki through exclusive footage from the studio. Join filmmakers and stars like Scarlet Johansson and Jeremy Renner as they detail the genesis of the Black Widow movie and Hawkeye series. Marvel Studios Forward is an immersive and in-depth look at the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Venom – August 5th

The origin story of Marvel’s most enigmatic, complex, and badass character: Venom! Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) is devastated after losing everything, including his job and fiancée. Just when he thought his life couldn’t get any worse, he becomes host to an alien symbiote that gives him superpowers and turns him into Venom. Will these powers be enough for this new lethal defender to defeat the great forces of evil? What about a much more powerful and armed rival like Riot?

LEGO Star Wars: Summer Vacation – August 5

Finn has organized a surprise vacation for his friends aboard the Galaxy’s most luxurious Star Cruiser, Halcyon! But Finn’s plan quickly goes awry when he is separated from the group. Alone aboard the Halcyon, Finn encounters three Force Spirits – Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker and Princess Leia, who share their own unexpected stories of a vacation gone wrong.

I Am Groot – August 10

The production is a collection of five original shorts starring Baby Groot, the little tree loved by the public, and will feature new and unusual characters. All five shorts will be available to viewers from launch.

There’s no way to protect the galaxy from this naughty child! So get ready, as Baby Groot takes center stage in his own series, exploring his glory days as he grows up – and gets into trouble – among the stars.

Vin Diesel, who is the original English voice of Groot in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, voices Baby Groot. Kirsten Lepore is the writer and director, with Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum and James Gunn serving as executive producers.

Muppet Babies: Season 3 – August 10

Children’s versions of Jim Henson’s famous Muppet characters embark on wild adventures through their imaginations.

Bluey (series) – Season 3 – August 10

The adventures of a dog’s daily life while having fun with family and friends in everyday situations.

Marvel Legends: Season 1: Episode 23 – August 10

As the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to expand, Marvel Legends celebrates and explains what came before. Revisit the heroes, villains and epic moments from across the MCU in preparation for the highly anticipated stories to come. Each dynamic segment leads directly to the series that will debut on Disney+, setting the stage for future events. She-Hulk: Defender of Heroes – August 17

In Marvel Studios’ She-Hulk: Defender of Heroes, Jennifer Walters – a lawyer specializing in cases involving superhumans – must deal with the complicated life of a single thirty-something woman who happens to be a super-powered hulk of 2 meters.

Cooking with Magic: Season 1 – August 17

Splitting kids ages 6-14 into three teams of two, has them race against the clock to create a Disney-inspired cake utilizing Tastemade’s recipe videos and “an enchanted pantry” full of ingredients.

Chibi Tiny Tales: Season 2 – August 17

The adventures of various Disney characters are presented in chibi style.

Spidey and his Amazing Friends: Season 1 – August 17

Follow Peter Parker, Gwen Stacy and Miles Morales and their adventures as the young heroes team up with the Hulk, Ms. Marvel and the Black Panther to defeat enemies like Rhino, Doctor Octopus and the Green Goblin.

Something Bit Me: Season 1 – August 17

“Something bit me!” is a new documentary series that explores the true stories of animal and insect attacks, as well as the bites and stings that brought some people to the ER.

Andor: Episodes 1 and 2 – August 31

The Andor series will explore a new perspective on the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make in his universe. The series presents the story of the growing rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. This is an age fraught with danger, deceit and intrigue as Cassian embarks on a path destined to transform him into a rebel hero. Diego Luna returns as Cassian Andor and is joined by cast members Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough and Kyle Soller. Executive producers are Kathleen Kennedy, Sanne Wohlenberg, Diego Luna and Michelle Rejwan. Tony Gilroy is the creator and showrunner.

Million Dollar Moon Rock Heist – August 19

The story of how a NASA intern stole millions of dollars’ worth of moon rocks from the Johnson Space Center in Houston.

Cãoventuras: Season 1 – August 24

Ciro the dog moves to the city after eight-year-old and animal-loving Sofia adopts him. There, he meets Vanilla and Fabio, two dogs with whom he lives incredible adventures.

Cloak & Dagger: Seasons 1 and 2 – August 24

In New Orleans, Louisiana, teenagers Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson come from different backgrounds and acquired superpowers after a life-changing event that revolved around the collapse of the Roxxon Gulf Platform. High School Musical: The Musical: The Series: Season 3 – New episodes every Wednesday

The Wildcats head to Shallow Lake, a Californian summer camp, where they and their fellow campers will have an unforgettable summer filled with romance, sleepless nights and a taste of nature. Things heat up and cool down as they take on an all-important montage of “Frozen” and shoot a drama-filled documentary at the same time. Will the Wildcats be able to show who is “the best in the snow” without having to leave anyone out in the cold?
