We’re talking about “Shazam!” with Zachary Levi in the title role. away Sunday May 15, 2022 you can watch the superhero film in a relaxed way on offer from Amazon Prime Video stream.

The story revolves around teen Billy Batson (Asher Angel), who has been with a few foster families and now arrives with husband and wife team Victor and Rosa. The big family, with six children living under one roof, feels like anything but his new home to Billy. But his new brother Freddy (Jack Dylan Grazer) takes him in right away.
When Billy stands up for him at school and then flees from bad schoolmates, he magically ends up with an old magician who turns him into a real superhero. Thanks to the magic word “Shazam”, Billy becomes that very superhero (Zachary Levi) – complete with an adult body and a teenager’s mentality. Best DC Movie or Marvel Imitation? The audience doesn’t seem to care
With “Shazam!”, the DCEU ventured into comedic and warm-hearted spheres for the first time, even if “Aquaman” already tried to portray the lords of the seven seas in a sympathetic way. With Zachary Levi (“Chuck”) in the leading role as Shazam, who makes no secret of his passion for comics, superheroes* and pop culture, the ideal actor was found for the childlike Billy Batson.
The joke was well received by trade visitors and fans, which is also proven by the ratings on the platform Rotten Tomatoes with 90% approval from the trade press and 82% approval from the public. For many, it’s one of, if not THE, best DCEU film. The mix of action, original story, comedy and a good cast that sometimes makes fun of the genre is coherent.
Malicious tongues, on the other hand, claim that “Shazam!” feels like a copy of a film from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU for short). “Shazam!” is too different from the previously established DCEU, which primarily strives for serious topics with its protagonists around Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman. In particular, the comedic interludes, which are not lacking in “Shazam”, actually occur more frequently in the Marvel films.
Wherever you find yourself: Those who have missed the chance to see “Shazam!” can now easily catch up on Amazon Prime Video. For everyone else, there’s good reason to check back in: The sequel, Shazam 2: Fury of the Gods, hits theaters in December.
