Martial arts fans were able to enjoy a monstrous action film from South Korea on TV last Friday. You can catch up on it in the stream here.
Action horror fans with a historical twist often get their money’s worth with Korean films and series. The Netflix series Kingdom and the action movie Rampant, for example, showed us what a zombie apocalypse can look like when it’s set in a pre-industrial era and firearms work only rudimentarily. The film goes in a similar direction “Monster”.
The Korean action horror film premiered on TV this Friday, July 15, 2022 at 10:05 p.m. on Tele5. “Monstrum” is set in the 16th century, during the reign of King Jungjong in the former kingdom of Joseon. A plague is spreading there and rumors are spreading that a huge monster is roaming the land. Right in the middle is Yoon Gyeom (Myung-Min Kim), who tries to protect the king from the beast and goes in search of the monster with skilled fighters. If you want to catch up on the film, Amazon Prime members can stream it for free here.
