From now on we can stream the prequel to the popular “Predator” series with “Prey”. The enthusiastic reactions suggest that a real highlight awaits us here.
After Arnold Schwarzenegger had to defend himself against the eponymous threat from space in the original in the jungle, the “Predator” series made it a trademark to change the environment for each subsequent entry. The latest movie “Prey” also jumps to a new point in time and presents us with the first appearance of a Predator on Earth.
The film now premiered on Disney+ and you obviously shouldn’t miss it. The film received a staggering 92% positive reviews from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. The visitors of the San Diego Comic-Con were able to see the fight of the Comanche warrior Naru (Amber Midthunder) against the intergalactic superiority staged by director Dan Trachtenberg in advance and had the following positive assessments to report:
“’Prey’ rocks hard. Dan Trachtenberg has pulled it off and gives us the best ‘Predator’ since the original. Get involved, switch off and let’s go.”
“’Prey’ is the most worthy and hard-hitting ‘Predator’ movie we’ve seen since the original. Beautifully filmed, excitingly written, excellent characters and some of the most blatant and entertaining sci-fi action of the series. He’s exciting, funny, powerful and I can’t wait to see him again.”
“I’ve said it to a lot of people since I saw ‘Prey’: I fucking love this movie! Loved the first ‘Predator’ movie, have a place in my heart for ‘Predator 2’ due to nostalgia, liked ‘Predators’ but didn’t like the last movie. But this one: simply the best [Ableger] since the original. That’s a blast.”
“‘Prey’ has exactly what fans want in a ‘Predator’ movie: gory deaths, crazy weaponry and references to the other films in the franchise. Technically, ‘Prey’ is the first ‘Predator’ movie that’s an absolute blast thanks to insane kills and jump scares.”
