The first seven episodes of season 4 of “Stranger Things” have had their share of victims. Among them, the creators of the series regret one in particular. Attention ! This article contains SPOILERS for Season 4 of “Stranger Things”!
Stranger Things season 4: Vecna does damage
Contents
After battling Demogorgons, and the Mind Flayer, the Hawkins Teens face a much bigger threat in season 4 of Stranger Things. In effect, the terrifying Vecna appears from the first episode, in a very gory way. He enters the mind of poor Chrissy (Grace Van Dien), and kills her extremely violently (which sets the horrifying tone of these new episodes).
A character to which the spectators are attached, and that the creators regret having killed so quickly. In TVLineMatt and Ross Duffer, indeed declared to have had some remorse:
This kind of stuff always happens to us, we say to ourselves “what did we do?!” (…) we shot the scene in the forest with Eddie quite late, and we had already shot the scene of his death. This sequence came to life, and it was very beautiful. It is the fruit of the alchemy between the two actors.
The complicity between Chrissy and Eddie could indeed have given rise to a pretty romance, if the young cheerleader had survived Vecna. Instead, Eddie was quickly seen as the main suspect in Chrissy’s murder.

Another late character
Chrissy isn’t the only character the Duffer Brothers regret killing off in Stranger Things. Indeed, still in TVLive, they confided that the death of Bob (Sean Astin) in season 2 had been a hard blow :
When we killed off Bob in Season 2, we didn’t feel like doing it. Sean didn’t want to die, Winona Ryder didn’t want him to die either. We got attached to this character.
But good news: the Duffers have indicated that they want to work again shortly with Grace Van Dien and Sean Astin in new projects.
Season 4 sequel arrives July 1
After seven impactful first episodes, having provided many answers to the mysteries that still hovered over the upside down world, season 4 of Stranger Things will end on July, 1st with the release of episodes 8 and 9. An extremely awaited finale on the part of the fans, who fear the death of certain characters. Because with Vecna, no one seems immune.
