On the occasion of the Summer Game Fest, Bethesda unveiled a brand new trailer for Starfield, detailing the gameplay in a video of about ten minutes. A software which seems particularly enticing at first glance, but which could well tire some of them as for the mechanics of the game. We take stock!

Finally something new for Starfield ! Four years after being announced with great fanfare, and after many small videos on its development broadcast for several months, now the software of Bethesda Softworks finally shows its gameplay through a long video of a quarter of an hour, unveiled on Sunday June 12 during the conference Xbox Bethesda during the Summer Game Fest 2022.

What do we learn in this video? It all starts on the planet Kreet, where your ship lands. You embody a space miner who joined Constellation, humanity’s last group of explorers. From a game mechanics point of view, the regulars of softwares of Bethesda should not be out of place since they use the same codes as other studio software, like Fallout 4 or Fallout 76. A software also conforms to what one might expect, graphically speaking, using the engine of the studio’s previous games.

A software which, just like the other opuses of Bethesda, can be played in both first and third person. There is also a well-stocked skill tree, as well as a whole bunch of materials to recover, via a laser, to crafter equipment. A map that also thinks big, since according to the developers, it will include 100 systems to visit, for a total of 1000 planets.

An ambition that could pose a problem… And for good reason: like No Man Sky which uses the same codes, the planets could be procedurally generated there. What does it mean ? That these could all look alike, both in its ecosystem and in the resources and missions to discover… Which could quickly tire the players. All that remains is to wait for the release of the game on computer and Xbox for 2023, to contradict bad language!
