Jordan Peele has auctioned off the prosthetic ear worn by Corey Friedman in the 80s cult hit Stand by me.
The director and comedian Jordan Peele has revealed that he has bought at auction L’prosthetic ear worn by Corey Friedman in Stand by me – Memory of a summer, 1986 film in which he played Teddy. The auction had been organized on the occasion of his fiftieth birthday.
“Up for auction was the ear that Teddy wore in Stand by me – Memory of a summer and I, in a disturbing and fetishistic way, bought it. I realize how strange it sounds, it’s not a thing that should be shared. When I told Corey, he was happy that I took it” declared Jordan Peele at the microphones of Late Night with Seth Meyers.

The director then explained that he has a great friendship with the actor and that he has also been to his house: _ “He invited me and my producer to his house, absolutely fantastic. Full of memorabilia and things like that. Obviously if you don’t know Corey go fuck yourself, he’s one of the most famous teen icons ever. At his house he showed us this unreleased film called The Birthday and, as a cinephile, it was an incredible experience.” _.
