During a recent interview, Miles Teller explained why he agreed to star in Spiderhead, returning to work with Joseph Kosinski, the director of Top Gun: Maverick.
Fans have just seen Miles Teller take flight in Top Gun: Maverick last month but, on June 17, they will see him play another role in a very different kind of film. It is about Spiderheada sci-fi thriller, and in a recent interview the star explained what prompted him to work with Joseph Kosinski again.
While the film is a far cry from the acclaimed sequel starring Tom Cruise, the production reunited Teller with the Maverick director and, in an interview with CinemaBlend, Miles talked about how many pages of the script he read before agreeing to star in the film.
The actor began by saying: “I probably only read a handful of words before saying yes, but only because it was sent to me by Joe. Before this movie, we had shot two more and I had a really great experience with him. I mean, I’m not saying he could offer me anything and I’d accept, but in a lot of cases I’d say, ‘Yes‘”.
“I liked this project right from the start. I think Joe is able to enter worlds of this genre, to create and explore them visually while maintaining a rich and in-depth characterization of the characters. I was excited, I had never done anything like this before. Fortunately for me, the script was also very good“concluded Miles Teller.
