Spider-Man Actor Was Offered To Actually Hit Tobey Maguire

Joe Manganiello revealed an unusual situation in the Spider-Man trilogy directed by Sam Raimi at Marvel. The actor received a proposal to attack Tobey Maguire for real during the recordings.

The revelation was made in an interview with Pete Holmes. A crew member approached some actors offering $100 (more than R$500 these days) to actually hit Tobey Maguire in the face.

“There was a guy on staff who came in and said, ‘Look, I’ll give you $100 to accidentally hit him in the face.’ He asked for me and other guys in the movie. I looked around and there was an electricity guy installing something. I looked at him and he gave me that look back. I would probably never work again,” said the Flash Thompson actor, who declined the offer.

The Marvel actor did not comment on the reason for the proposal on the part of the team member. Speculation has it that Tobey Maguire was a difficult person on set early in his career.

The Peter Parker star has not commented on the situation. Manganiello also did not say whether the Spider-Man actor was aware of this proposed aggression.

New Marvel movie, Spider-Man: No Homecoming, is still in theaters

Spider-Man 3, titled Spider-Man: No Return Home, features Tom Holland, Zendaya and Jacob Batalon. The cast also includes Jamie Foxx as Electro, Alfred Molina as Doctor Octopus and Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange.

The film is directed by Jon Watts.
