Spider-Man 3: Who might be the mysterious member of the Sinister Sextet

While the new trailer for Spider-Man: No Return Home (Spider-Man 3) has confirmed five different villains from the multiverse, who could be the sixth member of the Sinister Sextet? Screen Rant released a new review around this.

Spider-Man’s biggest challenges in the comics have always come from the Sinister Sextet, so who could be the sixth and final villain?

Given Doctor Strange’s revelation in the trailer that all the villains featured so far are enemies who are killed in battle with Spider-Man in their respective universes, perhaps the ultimate villain could be Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mystery.

Mystery will already be important in Spider-Man: No Return Home (Spider-Man 3), given the public’s belief that he died a hero before revealing that Peter Parker is Spider-Man, and he apparently died of a from the shots of his drones while trying to kill Peter in Spider-Man: Away from Home.

Mystery was the reason Peter approached Doctor Strange in the first place, wanting the Supreme Sorcerer to undo the grand revelation of his secret identity to the world. As a result, it would be appropriate to have him as the final member of this new Sinister Sextet coming to the MCU.

It is worth noting that, for now, it is just speculation. There is still no confirmation on the sixth member of the Sinister Sextet.

Rumor has it that a Sinister Sextet from the multiverse is formed in the film. The title would be linked to these villains not having a “back home”, that is, to their respective universes.

Willem Dafoe is expected to return as the Green Goblin to lead this group. The villain was the main character of the first Spider-Man with Tobey Maguire. Molina’s Doctor Octopus is also from that same trilogy, while Foxx’s Electro is from Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker movies.

Despite the rumors, Marvel and Sony do not comment. What is certain is that Spider-Man 3 must begin to pave the way to bring Tom Holland’s Peter Parker closer to Venom.

The film is directed by Jon Watts.

“For the first time in Spider-Man’s cinematic history, our friendly neighborhood hero is unmasked and can no longer separate his normal life from the big risks of being a superhero.”

“When he asks Doctor Strange for help, the risks become even more dangerous, and force him to discover what it really means to be Spider-Man,” reads the film’s synopsis.

Spider-Man 3, titled Spider-Man: No Return Home, is scheduled for December 16, 2021.
