Spider-Man 3: Iron Man, villains and more revelations from the new trailer

Starring Tom Holland, Spider-Man: No Return Home, or Spider-Man 3, got a second trailer full of revelations and references. The film shows that you must remember more of Marvel, as Captain America and Iron Man, in addition to bringing memories of Sony’s feature films.

As expected, the villains from the Spider-Man movies with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are back. But this time, they gain a lot from the MCU style.

Another highlight is Doctor Strange, making a direct connection with the existing universe and remembering that the story takes place in the world of the Avengers. Indicatives were certainly not lacking in the preview.

Check below the references, revelations and indications that the Cinema Observatory noticed in Spider-Man 3, or Spider-Man: Sem Volta Para Casa.

Doctor Octopus gains Iron Man technology

From the appearance of the films with Tobey Maguire, Doctor Octopus gets a boost in the new Spider-Man. His claws appear with the technology of Tony Stark the Iron Man, including colors reminiscent of the hero of the Avengers.

A second Green Goblin?

Willem Dafoe is confirmed to be back in Spider-Man: No Return Home. But, the image above raises suspicions of the appearance of Harry Osborn, being that of James Franco (by Tobey Maguire) or that of Dane DeHaan (by Andrew Garfield).

Spider-Man Events: Away from Home

As much as fans are excited about the prospect of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, Spider-Man 3 still closely follows the events of Away From Home, when the hero’s secret identity is revealed to the world. This revelation causes Peter Parker of Tom Holland to seek out Doctor Strange.

Spell initiates arrival of villains from other universes

The villains of other Spider-Man versions are confirmed as part of the multiverse. Apparently, as Doctor Strange says, Peter Parker interferes with the spell requested by him. With that, Doctor Octopus, Green Goblin, Lizard, Electro and Sandman reach the main world of the MCU.

In the first trailer, the fan theory is that the moment of magic coincided with the opening event of Loki’s multiverse, which can be ruled out with this second preview.

New Spider-Man costume

No Return Home upgrades Peter Parker’s nightwear. At another time, Spider-Man uses the same costume to also cast the same spell as Doctor Strange.

Doctor Octopus has another Peter Parker

The scene confirms that Doctor Octopus’ Spider-Man is another one – and he doesn’t look like Tom Holland. In other words, this ends the theory of the three Tom Holland and reinforces the return of Tobey Maguire as the Spider, or at least his existence in the MCU.

Doctor Octopus can be an ally

After seeing that he doesn’t fight his Peter Parker, Doctor Octopus can become an ally of Spider-Man of the MCU. As everyone knows, the character is a good man who has been dominated by his technology. In the trailer battle in No Return Home, the villain seems to be dominated by the claws, which are lit red.

But over the course of the preview, technology seems to lose that grip, and it may continue the redemption story of Doctor Octopus from Spider-Man 2, starring Tobey Maguire.

Is it the same Peter Parker?

When Doctor Strange states that “there are others out there”, Spider-Man appears in the distance, moving in the scene above. But is it really Tom Holland’s Peter Parker? With the preview come theories that a fourth version of the hero could appear in Spider-Man 3, as Miles Morales.

Captain America is honored

The Statue of Liberty will gain the Captain America shield on the MCU. The trailer for Spider-Man 3: No Return Home features a giant monument to the hero of Avengers.

Scooby-Doo reference or joke?

Doctor Strange is angry with Peter Parker, MJ and Ned, stating that they should investigate what is going on. A curiosity is that Scooby-Doo’s first live-action movie was released in 2002, the same year as Tobey Maguire’s first Spider-Man.

Spider-Man and Doctor Strange must fall out

In interviews, Tom Holland claims that Spider-Man and Doctor Strange aren’t exactly friends. The trailer shows that the Avengers heroes will not agree on what to do with the multiverse villains arriving at the MCU.

Aunt May in danger?

There is a rumor that Peter Parker loses someone important in Spider-Man 3. One of the potential victims would be Aunt May, who appears running in part of the trailer, indicating that she could really be in danger.

Electro comes back with a new look

Jamie Foxx’s Electro is seen in the new costume for Spider-Man 3. The last appearance was in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, with Andrew Garfield.

Green Goblin reappears with a slight change in appearance

Willem Dafoe’s villain returns with a look that is very reminiscent of the one used in the Marvel and Sony movies with Tobey Maguire. The costume underwent a small change to the feature film starring Tom Holland.

happy is caught

Tony Stark’s faithful bodyguard Iron Man returns to assist Peter Parker. Therefore, Happy must end up getting caught, as Spider-Man becomes a public enemy.

Lizard and Sandman also return

In the scene where the villains come together, Marvel and Sony show the return of Sand-Man and Lizard, who appear respectively in Spider-Man 3 (with Tobey Maguire) and The Amazing Spider-Man (with Andrew Garfield).

Andrew Garfield Hair

Coincidence or not, moments before a scene that has everything to be tragic, Tom Holland appears with hair that reminds Andrew Garfield of the actor’s time as Spider-Man.

MJ going through Gwen Stacy moment

In The Spectacular Spider-Man 2, Emma Stone’s Gwen Stacy is thrown and killed, without the title hero saving her. In No Return Home, the beginning of the scene is repeated with Zendaya’s MJ.

Will Tom Holland’s Peter Parker manage to save her?

The multiverse invades the MCU

The final scene in the trailer shows Doctor Strange trying to prevent the invasion of other realities. As Marvel fans know, the hero of the Avengers won’t be able to stop the opening of the multiverse.

The effect is very similar to Loki’s when the multiverse opens. Now, the theory is that this moment coincides with the event of the God of Cheating series on Disney+, causing several realities to re-exist inside the MCU.

For many, this may be the moment when Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield arrive.

Bonus: Character is erased in teaser

A teaser published to promote the second trailer deleted a character in the scene above. The Lizard is seen taking a punch from someone who was edited out of the moment. Marvel fans are betting it’s from Andrew Garfield’s hero.
