Silvia Tortora, daughter of Enzo and TV journalist, dies

Rome, 10 January 2022 – E. Silvia Tortora died. The journalist, daughter of the TV presenter and author Enzo, died overnight in a Roman clinic. Had 59 years old.

Born in Rome on November 14, 1962, she followed in her father’s footsteps and spent most of her career at Rai, working on reconstructing the history of our country. He has long collaborated with the weekly Epoch and worked on TV with Giovanni Minoli to ‘Mixer’ and then to ‘We are the story’ by making a series of great interviews. He also hosted ‘Big’, a Raitre program dedicated to great Italian personalities.

Daughter of Enzo Tortora and his second wife Miranda Fantacci, together with his younger sister Gaia, has always been at the forefront in defending his father’s reasons, during the trial, which saw him convicted of a Camorra association and then acquitted, but also after death. His is the screenplay of movie ‘A decent man’ by Maurizio Zaccaro, dedicated to the figure of her father, who earned her the silver ribbon at the Taormina Festival in 1999.

He has also published several books including ‘Cara Silvia’ (Marsilio 2002) who collects the letters that her father Enzo wrote her from prison. In 1990 he moved the French actor Philippe Leroy, with whom he had two children Philippe and Michelle.
