After four years as lovers, Silas Holst and Nicolai Schwartz can now call themselves husbands.

The 39-year-old dance darling and the three-year-younger Nicolai exchanged wedding rings at Nakkehoved Fyrkro near Gilleleje, where they were followed up the church floor by their mothers.

“It’s fantastic to celebrate with friends and family,” the happy newlywed couple told BT shortly after the wedding. They also have a clear plan for what the rest of the celebration will consist of:

“It must be celebrated with lots of beer and kisses!”

However, the couple has dropped the bridal waltz, as – according to Silas Holst – it “resembles too much work.”

It was in November last year that Nicolai got down on one knee to propose to his chosen one.

He had taught Silas Holst that he should pack rubber boots and a sleeping bag because they were going on a trip in the open. At first Silas Holst was a little annoyed – but when the car turned the corner into the Marienlyst Strandhotel, he smelled the fuse, Nicolai Schwartz previously told BT

Next, the tiled stove was put in for a romantic evening.

“First a gourmet dinner, where we sat alone and ate – they had arranged for the hotel room to be decorated – and then I proposed on the balcony. It was quiet, lovely and romantic,’ said Nicolai Schwartz, who then also had the traditions in place.

“I had asked his mother and family before, and they said: ‘Better than happy.’ So it was nice.’
