Sicily, two “Forza Italia” remain: Micciché keeps his name and symbol, but is increasingly isolated

Which Force Italy? This is the pending question Sicily since, last week, the party at the regional assembly it split into two groups: Forza Italia 1 and Forza Italia 2. Two groups separated by a number, accepted by the president of Ars, Gaetano Galvagnojust waiting for it to happen clarity within Berlusconi’s party. A week later, the novelty is that the first group, headed by the president of the Sicilian region, Renato Schifanichanged its name to “Come on Italy to the Ars“. Simply “Come on Italy” will be the one that instead belongs to Gianfranco Micciché.

The fracture remains, therefore, and the question remains pending which one it is Berlusconi’s party, especially after Micciché, head of the Azzurri in Sicily, made it clear that he is the one who holds name and symbol of Fi in the Island. A fracture therefore that cannot be healed, despite the pressure: “Micciché? She was him offered everythingnot only the vice presidency of the Senate, really everything, but still opposes rejection”, reveals a member of the majority. A rejection that has so far only seen aggravate the position of the force supporter: the first group, i.e. the one close to the president of the Region, is made up of 9 advisersthe second only from 4.

The point is that among these four there is also the Barcelona criminal lawyer Pozzo di Gotto, Thomas Calderonewho however was also elected to the Room and will almost certainly opt for the latter, where it is already part of justice commission. If this were the case, Micciché’s Forza Italia would lose the minimum number to form the group at the Ars. In the meantime, the pressure on Micciché continues: not surprisingly, the former president of Ars was not in the courtroom today.

Just today that we voted for the commissions: a vote that sanctioned the political weakness of the Fi coordinator within the centre-right. In fact, the presidency of the Budget commission went to the Melonian Darius Daidonewhile Ignatius Abbateof the New Christian Democrats of Toto Cuffaro, will chair the Institutional Affairs Committee. While Schifani’s force supporters collect the presidency of the Productive Activities commission, where he will sit Gaspar Vitrano. Therefore, the Micciché group, which was left dry also for the formation of the Schifani junta, remains dry.

“He had accepted Giovanna Volo as Councilor for Health, then suddenly what happened? What happened is Micciché…”, says a veteran of the Sicilian centre-right. A different version from the one provided by the Fi coordinator, according to whom – as he revealed to the press – Volo’s name would have been imposed from Schifani. Reconstructions and background that do not pierce the doubt: who represents Berlusconi’s party in Sicily? Micciché holds the name and symbol and could respond to a design of the party on a national scale, specifically the wing Ronzulliperhaps still undecided about full membership of the government Melons. But there are those in the Sicilian centre-right who deny this reading: “He moves on his own, without a strategy”, says one of his detractors. Certainly today’s session at the Ars registers a Micciché increasingly isolated. At least in Sicily.
