Seva Gram In Chhattisgarh: Raipur. State Bureau, In order to keep the values, principles, ideals and concept of ‘Gram Swaraj’ of Mahatma Gandhi intact in the 75th year of independence, a service village on the lines of Wardha will be established in Nava Raipur. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has directed to identify 75 to 100 acres of land in Nava Raipur for this. He has said that provision should also be made for training of all types of artisans in the institute to strengthen the rural economy and to realize the dream of self-reliant village. The Chief Minister has directed to submit an action plan in this regard before October 2, 2021.

This proposed service village in Nava Raipur will be constructed using natural materials like clay, lime, stone. This project will give inspiration to remember and learn Gandhi philosophy. Along with this, the memories of the freedom movement and the national history will also be kept alive through this. Centers of Gandhian principles, rural arts and crafts will be developed in Sevagram. Where guidance will be given by guest subject experts. Along with this, old age homes and schools for the underprivileged will also be established there.

It aims to empower the local people by promoting tourism opportunities, promoting the state’s folk arts, giving second-home to the elderly and creating a world-class system in Chhattisgarh for ideological exchange. The proposed ‘Visitors Centre’ at Seva Gram will be a center for learning, living and remembering Gandhi’s principles.

This Sevagram will be a place where visitors can learn about local arts and crafts, local cuisine. You can share your information and experiences. There will also be an open theater in the Seva Gram, where cultural programs will be organized.

Sevagram was built in Wardha in 1936

Situated in Wardha, Maharashtra, Sevagram was established in the year 1936 as the residence of Mahatma Gandhi and his consort Kasturba, so that from there they could lead the freedom movement in central India. This Wardha institution was also the center of reconstruction of rural India according to the dreams of Mahatma Gandhi.
