The theatrical release of “Scream” is imminent. Now there are the first voices for the horror sequel. And they sound extremely euphoric.
The “Fear Street” trilogy published on Netflix has impressively demonstrated that there is still an audience for the slasher genre. In general, horror films are booming right now in the corona pandemic. Whenever the world is surrounded by bad things, the demand for horror also increases when it comes to entertainment. Because that has a cathartic effect.

There comes the theatrical release of “Scream”. January 13, 2022 just right: The continuation of the cult “Scream” series by director Wes Craven and writer Kevin Williamson comes around eleven years after the last film “Scream 4” and that came just eleven years after “Scream 3”. And they’re all back on board: Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott, Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers, David Arquette as Dewey Riley. Due to the long time between the films, fans of the first hour in particular have the feeling that they are seeing old friends again and not just a sequel. And that obviously also has an effect on the fun factor, as the first voices on social networks suggest:
“’Scream’ hits you! It’s a picture book example of how to revive and freshen up a range – and do it with a killer style. Fiercely ingenious, as razor-sharp as the first articles in the series and with a third act that hits the bull’s eye. Two thumbs up! “
“The new ‘Scream’ is the real deal. Such a well-written script that keeps you thinking and wading the fandom waters in 2022. ‘Scream’ fans will love it. “
“The new ‘Scream’ is awesome and my favorite since the original. Some of the writing was really sleek – a good balance between well-placed shocks and amusing commentary on modern horror. The movie also makes fun of itself while also remaining a bloody Whodunnit and just plain fun. I’m a fan!”
“I can’t believe it, wow! Finally saw ‘Scream’ and it delivers and more. If this series means something to you – and it means so damn much to me – you will be happy and moved and want more. Oh yes, he’s scary as hell and funny. “
“As someone who has adored this series for a little over 25 years, I totally loved ‘Scream’. Brutal killings, fun mystery, and both the regulars and newbies were great. Wes [Craven] would be proud. “[display-posts orderby="rand"]
We like to believe that the creator of the series would be proud of the latest part, because the trailer itself promises damn good, intelligent and exciting entertainment.
“Scream” has a great legacy
“Scream!” Revived the slasher genre and expanded it with another iconic killer with Ghostface. The new “Scream” was created under the new direction of the duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (“Ready or Not – On your marks, get set, dead”). Together with producer Chad Villella, they form the talented filmmaker collective Radio Silence. And thanks to her gentle and respectful approach to the franchise, Neve Campbell chose to come back as Sidney Prescott. Because all previous films have been directed by Wes Craven, who died in 2015. Without horror master Craven, another film in the series seemed almost impossible. According to the reactions, Radio Silence has succeeded in inheriting Craven. After the cinema release, it remains to be seen whether the general public shares this opinion.
