‘Scream 3’ denounced sexual abuse in Hollywood… and almost no one noticed!

I perfectly remember the day I went to watch ‘panic 3‘ in theaters in June 2000 after the film was delayed for nearly a year due to production issues.

With all the controversy surrounding the Multiple sexual harassment and rape allegations involving Harvey Weinstein, I soon remembered scenes from the film that tried to expose the producer.

The franchise was badly damaged by a big fight between the screenwriter Kevin Williamson and the producers, the brothers Weinsteins.

After the fight, Williamson was released from ‘panic 3‘ e Honor Kruger (‘The Master Key’, ‘Scream 3’) was hired to rewrite some scenes.

However, a scene of Williamson that remained in the film… or rather, two. The film had elements of horror and comedy, but it was also a major critic of the Hollywood industry.

In the scene in question, Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) discovers that her mother tried out to be an actress in Los Angeles and was raped by several studio executives.

Enjoy watching:

Maureen moved to Hollywood and appeared in three films for Sunrise Studios (seria a The Weinstein Company?), under the stage name “Rina Reynolds“. The films were produced by the horror icon John Milton (Harvey Weinstein?). During one of her parties, she was raped by Milton and your friends. The rape affected Maureen for the rest of her life, and she left Hollywood.

A film produced by the Weinsteins have such a real-life premise now that we’ve discovered these “parties” actually took place behind the scenes in Hollywood. Could this be the reason for the fight with the screenwriter? Or the fuse?

In addition to this scene, the film features a delightful participation of Carrie Fisher as a doppelganger of the actress, revealing that she only didn’t get the role of Princess Leia in ‘Star Wars’ because she didn’t want to “have sex” with George Lucas. Ouch!

The actress who plays Sidney in ‘Stab‘ also reveals that he only got the part in the film because he slept with the producer, John Milton.
