SCIENCE MUSEUM GROUP: Client Project Manager

Do you have an understanding of construction projects and experience of directing the work of consultants and client teams? Are you keen to work with leading design firms?If so, our Client Project Manager position could be a perfect fit for you. Based at the Science Museum, you will be part of a highly successful Masterplan team that over the past decade has delivered transformational galleries and visitor facilities, growing visitor numbers, engagement and the science capital of the UK. The Masterplan strategy marks a step change in our aspiration to engage with the best design practices and create life enhancing experiences through beautiful, appropriate and well-crafted design.In this role you will have a unique opportunity to plan, manage and deliver gallery projects that will transform the museum as part of the Masterplan programme. You will manage projects in live museum environments through the complete lifecycle from brief definition through construction and fit-out to handover. Embedding yourself within the museum, you will collaborate across a range of teams, ensuring museum workstreams such as gallery content, object conservation and operational packages are delivered to agreed time, cost and quality standards and that projects are integrated with site operations.Your role will be broad ranging, pivotal and influential – with the opportunity to make your mark in a museum environment, working behind the scenes on exciting gallery projects. You will act on initiative, most often independently, to identify key issues and areas of work, and drive through decisions and activities to a successful and timely conclusion.Joining us, you will have experience of capital project delivery work, with excellent understanding of project management, ideally in a client-facing role. You have the ability to manage tight timescales and fine details and are a keen collaborator. You know how to get people on-board and maintain their engagement.
