Sauron Appears in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power trailer and you didn’t notice

You may not have noticed, but Sauron is in the new trailer for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, released at San Diego Comic-Con 2022.

Sauron appears as a mysterious character near the end of the trailer, being played by actor Anson Boon.

The character may not look the same as what fans are used to seeing, but there’s a reason: by the time The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power takes place, Sauron was roaming Middle-earth in disguise.

Amazon Prime Video Big Bet

Big-budget The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is considered one of Amazon Prime Video’s biggest bets. Perhaps even the biggest in the streaming service’s history.

The investment is no accident. In both cinema and literature, The Lord of the Rings is one of the greatest sagas in pop culture.

In cinema, Peter Jackson directed The Lord of the Rings saga. However, he had no direct involvement in the development of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power arrives on Amazon Prime Video on September 2.
