The Sandman series, a great success on Netflix, has already been renewed for a second season, creating more expectations for fans. The creator of the comics published by DC, Neil Gaiman, is again contributing to the production.
Gaiman even revealed the presence of some characters, such as Delirium, and that another fan favorite will be in the second year of the series.
“After years of imprisonment, Morpheus, the King of Dreams, embarks on a journey between worlds to recover what was stolen from him and restore his power,” states the synopsis.
The cast features Tom Sturridge as Dream, David Thewlis in the role of Doctor Doom, Jenna Coleman as Johanna Constantine, Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer, and many other stars.
Wanda will appear in the series
Gaiman revealed that Wanda Mann, a character who is transgender in the comics, will appear in the second season of the series.
The comic book artist had revealed in an interview that the character is important, and that he would make his debut in live-action if the Sandman series was renewed (via CBR🇧🇷
“Wanda is an absolutely integral part of the Sandman universe. And if we’re lucky enough to do season two, Wanda will have a big role… It’s going to be so much fun casting fabulous trans actors,” he said.
The character that was created by Gaiman and Shawn McManus appeared in issue 32 of Sandman, in November 1991.
Wanda was an important character in the story Sandman – A Game of You, which dealt with the character’s identity as a transgender woman.
In the comics, Wanda was also a close friend of Barbie, who played a small role in the first season of the series.
