Samhain, Kate Dolan’s fantastic Halloween film awarded at Gérardmer: the trailer

“Samhain”, a fantasy film directed by Kate Dolan whose action takes place on Halloween night, will be released in cinemas on December 7, 2022. It received the jury prize at the last Gérardmer international fantasy film festival.

Halloween is a popular, inspiring and frequent topic in horror films and fantastic.
After Halloween Killsreleased last October 2021, and Halloween Endsreleased in October 2022another fantastic movie on the Party ofHalloween arrives at movie theater. It is samhain (You are not my mother) of Kate Dolan whose theatrical release is not scheduled for Halloween (there have been a few previews), but dated December 7, 2022.

samhain is the very first film what does the Irishman do Kate Dolan. She stages Hazel Doupe (Calm with Horsesseries Smother), Paul Reid (the horror movie The ritual on Netflix, the series The Alienist), Carolyn Bracken (Smother), Ingrid Craigie and Jordanne Jones (The Alienist).

samhainselected at the 29th edition of the Gérardmer International Fantastic Film Festivalwon there, tied with Abuelathe jury prize. the film was also part of the official selection of the Toronto International Film Festival in 2021.

Synopsis of samhain :

It’s the week before Halloween and Angela (Carolyn Bracken), Char’s mother (Hazel Doupe), has inexplicably disappeared. All that’s left is his abandoned car. When she returns home without an explanation the following evening, Char and her grandmother realize that something is wrong. She may look the same and sound the same, but Angela’s behavior is increasingly creepy, as if she’s been replaced by a malevolent force. When Halloween arrives, a night steeped in ancient myths and legends, Char realizes that she is the only one who can save her, even if she risks losing her forever.
