Thursday evening, CAF organized its big evening for the African Ballon d’Or. And unsurprisingly, it was Sadio Mané who won the day.
Author of a superb season with Senegal as well as with Liverpool, Sadio Mané was logically elected African Ballon d’Or of the year. The new Bayern Munich striker is ahead of his former team-mate Mohamed Salah and Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy. “As I said from the start, I’m very happy to win it because it’s not easy. I want to thank my teammates because without them it would not have been possible just like my club and my selection. I thank everyone for the support. Because they are all behind me from the beginning and even more since the victory at the CAN and the qualification for the World Cup. Thanks to them “ commented Sadio Mané, who will have to successfully acclimatize to Bayern Munich in order to claim to win this title again next season.
