Rock singer Trevor Strnad from the death metal band Black Dahlia Murder is dead, 41 years old.
This is confirmed by Trevor Strnad’s colleagues in the band on social media on Wednesday.
No cause of death has been identified, but members of the band have shared contact information for a suicide hotline.
“It is with deep sadness that we announce that Trevor Scott Strnad has passed away,” Black Dahlia Murder wrote in a statement.
“He was loved by all who met him. A wandering music lexicon. He was an embracer, a writer and truly one of the world’s greatest entertainers. His lyrics gave the world stories and sorcery and horror and crazy whims, “they also write.
Black Dahlia Murder was formed in 2001 in Michigan and is named after an unsolved murder case from 1947 on Elizabeth Short – subsequently in the media christened Black Dahlia.
The band has released nine studio albums, most recently in 2020, and should have been on tour later this year.
Black Dahlia Murder played in Denmark in Vega in Copenhagen on 10 February 2018 and Godset in Kolding five days later.
