Regé-Jean Page Didn’t Watch Bridgerton Season 2
In Bridgerton Season 1, Regé-Jean Page gave a show of acting as Simon Basset, the Duke of Hastings.
During all episodes of the first year, Simon stars in the most iconic scenes of the series. The character lives a great love with Daphne Bridgerton, played by Phoebe Dynevor.
However, in a surprising decision, the actor chose not to return in Season 2. After all, the latest episodes change the show’s focus.
Bridgerton season 1 mainly dealt with the romance between Daphne and Simon. The second year focuses on the love triangle between Anthony Bridgerton and sisters Kate and Edwina Sharma.
Regé-Jean Page is currently gearing up to release the spy thriller The Hidden Agent – one of Netflix’s most anticipated releases of 2022.
Starring Ryan Gosling (La La Land) and Chris Evans (Captain America), the feature is a production of the Russo Brothers, the directors of Avengers: Endgame.
In an interview promoting the feature, Regé-Jean Page was asked about the 2nd season of Bridgerton.
“I haven’t watched it yet,” said the actor. Apparently, Page seems to want to distance himself from the image of Simon Basset.
In a previous interview, Page stated that he didn’t care about his character’s future in Bridgerton.
“They can do whatever they want with it. Shonda Rhimes (Executive Producer of Bridgerton) and I had a great conversation at the end of Season 1. We are happy with the outcome,” said Page.
On Instagram, Regé-Jean Page also confirmed that she will not return in the 3rd season of Bridgerton, already ordered by Netflix.
“I will not be returning to the series. The newspapers invented this rumor”, confirmed the actor.
With Regé-Jean Page, Hidden Agent premieres on Netflix on July 22, 2022. In addition to Chris Evans and Ryan Gosling, the cast of the feature also includes Ana de Armas (Blonde), Jessica Henwick (Game of Thrones) and Wagner Moura (Narcos).
Bridgerton season 3, in turn, does not yet have a date to premiere on the platform.
