“In 2030 Renault it will be a 100% electric brand in Europe “. Thus the CEO of the Régie, the Italian Luca de Meo, indicated the present and future path of the French brand, partially adjusting the aim with respect to his declarations in July, in which he had “stopped” certainties at 90%.
Therefore the transalpine manufacturer has anticipated the calendar of the stop to the sales of internal combustion engines, which however will not retire. De Meo, in fact, specified that not all brand of the group will have the same fate. Dacia, for example, it will marry the electron after that date. And in any case “at the last possible moment”, explained de Meo, precisely to safeguard his propensity to “value for money”. A choice that will also be influenced by the state of the infrastructure charging and give costs electricity, in case the former were not adequate and the latter too high to create an ecosystem favorable to one gamma all electric.
For de Meo, the French group has “the obligation to participate in the transition”Towards a zero-emission Europe. And that is why Renault has launched its second 100% electric model after the Zoe: the Megane E-Tech Electric. These vehicles will be followed by others quattro, within the next three years: the new Renault 5, a compact sport utility, a small crossover inspired by the “old” Renault 4, and a van.
