Nicole Josy passed away last Thursday after a fall down the stairs. Half of ‘Nicole & Hugo’ lived to be 76 years old. The singer was buried in Zemst on Saturday. You can relive the funeral ceremony here.

  • On Friday afternoon, two to three hundred people came to the town hall in Wemmel to give a final greeting to Nicole, from the well-known showbiz couple Nicole & Hugo. She passed away at the age of 76 after an accidental fall. The people came in drop by drop, there was no long queue. A large crowd is expected soon at the funeral.

  • Nicole Josy, 76, suffered from Alzheimer’s disease, but died after falling at home. “I don’t know exactly what happened, but she must have misstepped on the second step,” her husband Hugo said last week. “She fell backwards on the stone floor. I heard the blow, and when I turned around, I immediately knew how serious it was.”

  • The funeral will take place on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Daelhof crematorium in Zemst. You are asked not to bring flowers or wreaths.

  • The first BVs arrive at Nicole Josy’s funeral. Musician Miguel Wiels and actor Steph Goossens, among others, come to Zemst to say goodbye to the singer who died last week. Flemish minister Ben Weyts (N-VA) is also present.
