Its weight was earlier said to be 56 kg gold. But after weighing on Monday, its weight turned out to be 67 kg 800 grams. However, according to the documents along with the orders of the court, after investigation, 64 kg of gold jewelery and biscuits were handed over to the 12 CGST team at night.

11.800 kg more gold found

Earlier it was being told that the weight of gold kept in Udaipur is 56 kg. However, on weighing on Monday, it turned out to be 67 kg 800 grams. However, out of gold, 3 kg 200 grams of gold biscuits were left in Udaipur due to the difference in the words written on the documents. The CGST team left with the remaining 64 kg gold. The remaining 3 kg 200 grams of gold will now be appealed again in the court.

The gold was to be given on Monday on the orders of the court. During this, the security arrangements were also kept tight. Security personnel were stationed outside the food delivery till 12 midnight. The security arrangements here remained tight till the departure of CGST officials late in the night. Security personnel also heaved a sigh of relief after the CGST team left with the gold. However, due to security reasons, it is not known where the CGST team has gone with the gold.

56 years ago in 1965, gold was collected in Udaipur to weigh former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri. Its weight was said to be 56 kg. Since then this gold was kept with the Udaipur Collector. Now after 56 years, the government has got this gold on the orders of the court. The current market price of this is being told around 30 crores.

In 1965, a businessman named Ganpat collected gold to weigh Lal Bahadur Shastri. But Shastri died on 11 January 1966 in Tashkent. After this, this gold was confiscated by the District Collector. In 1982, this gold was kept in Udaipur District Collector’s Malkhana and has been kept there since then. Earlier, petitions were filed in the court to get the gold back and the hearing was also held, but the court rejected the application to return the gold. Now on the orders of the court, the gold has been kept with the Central Goods and Service Tax.
